Short fields of horses are more common in jump than in flat sports bet races. But here we are talking about the number of horses who finish the race without falling or unseating their riders, as well as the obvious number of original starters in a race. Failure to note these important sports betting numbers when handicapping jumpers can result in false impressions of a horse’s ability.
Example: Jack the Jumper
The past performance line for Jack the Jumper’s last race makes him look like an improved sports horse compared to, say, six previous races where he was never closer than tenth. However, a look at the final far-right figure in the past performance line (“3,” indicating number of bet horses that started the race) tells you that Jack the Jumper finished last in a field of three horses. Extrapolating this theory, a case for the debunking of Fence Soarer’s merits could be made by citing the fact that his horse finished next to last. |

Greyhound Sports Bet Racing
As far back as the nineteenth century, sports bet dog racing was a most popular American spectator sports bet. During the twentieth century, it has become legal in 14 states with fast action in eight countries at over 100 different tracks. The Tennessee Dog Racing Bill should pass sometime in 1982. Even in Alaska, they do it in the snow and call it dog mushing.

The combination of the speed of the animals and the fast track makes for exotic sports gambling that annually draws in excess of twenty million dollars. It was in the 1930’s that this marvelous spectator sport got a boost from pari-mutuel wagering. The similarity to horse racing is that the track keeps about 17% of the bets made. The main difference, of course, for the handicapper is the elimination of the use of weight and jockey.

The ace handicapper focuses most of his attention on one sports bet thing, the rate of the dog’s acceleration up to the first turn of the track. Basically, the entire race is controlled by the first dog at the turn with the fastest speed and the staying power to go on and win the race. A stopwatch becomes a california lottery necessity if the handicapper is going to accurately time the dog’s speed up to the turn. Whereas 7.8 seconds might be a good time to reach the same spot in a different race, the dog that gets there in 7.6 seconds is a far superior accelerator. In a greyhound race, speed is what it’s all about and even a hundredth of a second can make or break the handicapper.In summary, to be ahead of the crowd for at least the first three weeks, take good notes at the schooling races, bring an excellent stopwatch, and be prepared to properly manage the money by internet sports bet that is bound to come in from your winnings.
